At Design By Us, craftsmanship and creativity go hand in hand. In Our Shade & Upholstery salon in Copenhagen NV, we design and handcraft custom-made lampshades, vintage lamps, and furniture — each piece created with care, passion, and personality.
We give you the freedom to bring your vision to life whether that means choosing a unique fabric, a special size, or a color that perfectly complements your interior.
THE VINTAGE LAMPS
The Vintage Lamp is an ideal statement pieces for any interior design, consistently delivering a surprising and unique aesthetic.
This lamp design adheres to principles of reusability, featuring a base crafted from a mix of vintage glass, including colorful vintage Murano glass from Italy. Each piece of glass is carefully handpicked in various shapes, colors, and patterns, then transformed into the Vintage Lamp for long-lasting enjoyment.
Each Vintage Lamp is unique, making every creation one of a kind. Handcrafting and assembly are carried out in our design studio in Denmark, with all shades handmade in our Shade Salon.
OUR HANDMADE LAMPSHADES
All our lampshades are handmade in-house by Gabby, our artisan. Gabby has over 30 years of experience in fashion and furniture design. Her experience combined with her education makes her skills range widely, and she can work with many different materials and crafts.
Whether you prefer silk, velvet, linen, or patterned fabrics, and an inner finish in white, gold, or silver, we are ready to bring your custom design to life. We collaborate with renowned textile brands including Mulberry, Christian Lacroix, Designers Guild, and Manuel Canovas.
Every shade is carefully crafted with precision, resulting in a stunning, one piece that enhances your interior.

TAILOR-MADE FURNITURE
A part of our special upholstery furniture, including the Skins Tables, Clown Stools, and headboards, are handcrafted in our Design Studio in Copenhagen NV.
Bespoke leather seatings, backrests, and cushions are also handmade in our design studio, tailored to perfection.
Whether your preference leans towards leather, wool, linen, velvet, silk, or patterned fabrics, the options are wide. We work with fabrics from renowned brands like Sørensen Leather, Kvadrat, Mulberry, Christian Lacroix, Designers Guild – and many more.
